Who Is Metalody?
🎵 About Metalody: A Musical Journey Across Continents 🌎
Hello, fellow music enthusiasts! I’m David Avila. Performing on stage as Metalody in different parts of the World has certainly given me some new perspective on what it means to be who I am in the face of everything going on in the world. To walk your path, if you will, and be alright with those who can’t walk it with you, welcoming those who do makes a difference. This globe-trotting adventure is essentially in my current experience all about finding new ways I get to be more creative, exploring what is and is becoming possible with every step I’m taking while not losing sight of what’s really important here on this Journey, developing myself further as an Artist in all the ways that I think really matter.
Keeping that in mind, I want to share with you some of my story.
The Prelude
🎶 From Wanderlust to World Stages
I got started on this Journey many years go. As you may know I used to make music while I was serving in the U.S. military but even before that I had a feeling this was going to be a big thing for me albeit it wasn’t as lit up of a path as it would eventually become on the other side of a lot of experiences I had yet to have gone through. That being said, freestyling with friends, writing and singing songs for love interests, and naturally developing a solid skillset early on let me break out into this music making mythic endeavor in a way that makes me wonder how I could have ever lived without it! Things haven’t changed in that sense and that being the case, I’m pretty damn lucky!

🌟 Connecting Through Music
Now, at this point, music largely, in connection with a few other mediums currently rising to the surface, helps keep me connected. It’s legit a solid choice for the road I’ve chosen to take, you know? It helps keep me grounded and, on some level, helps me stay afloat with what’s going on in my life as an outlet for the regularly-crazy energies that flow in and out at irregular intervals in my psyche. It’s cool because I can and do make music indoors, outdoors which means whatever I’m doing and wherever I’m going, people seem to always love and appreciate hearing a good song from a good voice … two things I like to think I’m still working on getting even better at! I really am lucky the gods gave me this way of both connecting and staying connected because without being able to Follow My Art, I doubt my compass would really have its magnetic North correctly calibrated.

🎤 Collaboration and Joy
Now, I’ve invited lots of people to make music with me from the stage. I’m always happy to get someone who plays an instrument to back me up in a live setting with no plan ahead of us for how things will unfold no matter where I am in the World. It’s such a cool thing whether the person who joins me on stage is doing this kind of stage thing, improvised or not, for the very first time or experiencing something they’ve done a million times before but now with me in a whole new way coming out of that moment together. People are always welcome to share their Art with me in all its forms and I’m always happy to check out what they’ve got going on. Exciting times!

🎵 Metalody’s Invitation
🎸 Join the Jam
If you’re interested in creating some Art together whether it’s online or in person, just let me know. The most difficult part, let’s say, is taking that first step into the unknown and what’s possible with what you’re given but once you do, you’ll be glad you did it because it’s with that engagement (plus your follow through) that your real Journey can begin if you want to take it there which means whether this is a one-off song or an ongoing effort, I’m ready to get started together because with the right energy, creating more is as simple as just showing up!
🌎 Follow My Journey (and Your Art)
Lastly, I’m traveling in different parts of the world experiencing new cultures, peoples, energies, and so on, on what I’m calling my Follow Your Art Music Journey. I’m a very lucky man. I would NOT have gotten this far without the awesome teachers, mentors, coaches, friendships, new and old, and engagements that have and will have helped me along the way. Now, let’s be honest … my brain is not a normal brain by any stretch of the imagination, I get that. However, with the communal efforts of wonderful people and incredible organizations looking out for me, I’m lucky to say I have been given a fighting chance for creating a kickass life while moving both myself forward as well as the people I care about. I think that’s really saying something and I’ll leave it at that for now. The world of music awaits! Thank you so much for being part of this Journey with me as I take my next first step. See you on the other side! 🤘🎶✨
